Royal Salute 21 Year Old Polo Estancia Edition Malbec Cask Finish Blended Scotch Whisky 700mL

A bespoke 21 year old blend fully finished in the finest Argentinian Malbec casks.

Argentinian Malbec wine is characterised by its deep colour and intense fruity flavours. The Polo Estancia blend was fully finished in top of the range Malbec wine casks from the high altitude ‘boutique terroir’ of Cafayate.

A meticulous process that requires a talented Master Blender to reach the exact desired profile and ensure the strength of flavours of the Malbec do not overpower the more delicate aged notes within the Royal Salute whiskies.

"Paying homage to Argentina as the home of polo, the malbec cask finish produces an inviting, fruity whisky kept in check by a whip-crack of spices. Aromas of dried cranberry, red grape, black currant, rum and raisin, milk chocolate, fresh walnut, creamy toffee, peppercorn, and roasted coriander seed. Tasting Notes:

Nose: Rich and fruity overlaid with notes of raspberries and blackberries, reminiscent of a luxurious berry compote with a hint of sweet liquorice.

Palate: Rich and sweet with wonderful spicy cinnamon notes followed by plum jam and indulgent dark chocolate ginger sweets.

Finish: Long and sweet with a slightly dry crescendo.
