Master Distiller Billy Walker spends a lot of time in the warehouses of the GlenAllachie distillery - he inspects around 50,000 barrels. It's not a job for the faint of heart, but it's time well spent, as his efforts are rewarded by excellent results.

The GlenAllachie Distillery resists the era of corporate mergers and consolidations and continues to focus, as an independent Scottish company, on the important things - creating outstanding whisky and enjoying life.

The GlenAllachie Cuvee Cask Finish Vintage 2011 was initially matured in American oak casks, then Billy Walker selected a further three cask types of different character - Pedro Ximénez Sherry Puncheons, Madeira Barrique casks and Port Pipes.

Tasting Notes:

Color: Mahogany.

Nose: Fruity, sweet, notes of mocha, licorice, honey, glazed cherries, ripe garden fruit.

Taste: Rich, full-bodied, notes of heather honey, cinnamon, caramelized sugar, ginger, orange peel. Finish: Long lasting.
