Blackwell 007 James Bond Limited Edition Fine Jamaican Rum 700mL

In celebration of No Time To Die, Blackwell Rum is delighted to announce that it has partnered with the 007 film franchise.

Chris Blackwell - the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and owner of Ian Fleming's former residence, GoldenEye - is launching a special 007 Limited Edition release of his Blackwell Fine Jamaican Rum. The Fine Jamaican Rum is inspired by his family's time-honored recipe. This aged, rich and fragrant dark gold rum is filled with the warmth and sensuality of Jamaica.

This limited-edition Rum features an augmented reality experience available via a QR code on the bottle, where Blackwell, who is best known for discovering Bob Marley, comes to life to share life stories, music selections, cocktail recipes and more.

"James Bond has been a big part of my life, from my childhood lunches with Ian Fleming at GoldenEye to being a location scout on the first movie, Dr. No (1962). It was a pleasure working alongside the No Time To Die production team in Jamaica providing our iconic rum for the set in James Bond's house, which has made this very special relationship come full circle. Tasting Notes:

Colour: Dark gold.

Nose: Fresh and fruity, with a nice balance: pineapple, melon, ripe banana, vegetal notes and a touch of vanilla.

Palate: Spicy with sweet and pastry aromas accompanied by vanilla and caramel. A touch of burnt wood.

Finish: The presence of dry and burnt wood is felt before giving way to notes of barley sugar.

"When I learned that this rum was made at J. Wray and Nephew/Appleton, it did in away shape my expectations of the product.  The smoky wood char notes leading the flavor profile was unexpected but really worked well with the balance of vanilla and brown sugar notes.  This could have easily gone overly bitter with immature barrel-aged rum, but the blenders found a way to balance it out.  If you are looking for a rum with a lot of “funky” flavors then you will need to look elsewhere. This rum is straightforward and is a fine sipper, but it shines when used in tropical cocktails.  Usually a brand tie in lowers my overall expectations of a product, but I can say this was overall a pleasant surprise.  If you spot one of the bottles, this is an easy one to pick up for your home bar." - Paul Senft, Got Rum

"A rich and somewhat deep, Blackwell Rum is a bit like Jamaican rum for beginners. Sweet and not too funky--the nose is full of tar, sugar crystals, orange peel, cocoa, and cigar box. The palate is fruity and easy with dried fruits, walnut, yeast, and hogo with a rubber note on the finish.
