More Information

Introducing Redbreast 18 Year Old, the first permanent member of the Redbreast family in four years. With the addition of cream sherry casks this exquisite expression offers a unique twist on the classic Redbreast style.

Matured by our Master Blender in a combination of ex-bourbon barrels and casks seasoned with the finest oloroso sherry, cream sherry and ruby port to elevate Redbreast’s Single Pot Still Whiskey to new heights. Bursting with berry fruit aromas, hazelnut chocolate tones, and caramelised stone fruit sweetness, our latest addition introduces a captivating array of new flavours that complement that signature Redbreast taste.

The tantalising addition of cream sherry casks from the esteemed Antonio Páez Lobato cooperage, rarely seen before in Redbreast whiskey, along with the portfolio’s more traditional cask profile, promises a tasting experience both new and familiar.

Tasting Notes:

Nose: Delectable berry fruit aromas of ripe blackcurrants and raspberries accompanied by sugar glazed cherries and dried fig. Indulgent tones of hazelnut chocolate and caramelised stone fruits with warming and fragrant notes of toasted almonds and cinnamon, nestled alongside polished oak and worn leather.

Taste: Full-bodied and rounded, with the oak tannins complementing the decadent sweetness of sun-kissed grapes and autumnal fruits. Vibrant spices of freshly peeled ginger and hints of liquorice weave amongst the wine seasoned oak influences of dried fruits, dark berries and orange peel.

Finish: Rich and lasting. The pot still spices, fruit and oak slowly fade harmoniously, showcasing the balance of this wonderfully complex whiskey.

"The aroma is rich with dates, orange peel, vanilla, and nutty barley. There's some red fruit and milk chocolate in there as well. It's fairly full (medium plus) on the palate and soft. There's a moderate sweetness here accented with a lightly spiced ending. The sherry flavors — dried fruits, walnuts, as well as a touch of oxidation — are present and accounted for on the finish. While not dessert-style, would certainly put it in the nightcap category. Crowd-pleasing and fairly priced." - Stephanie Moreno, Distiller (93 Points)

"The nose is luxuriously appealing, with milk chocolate, maraschino cherry, bramble, black currant, Nutella, baked citrus, apricot, mango, oak spices, toasted nuts, and cinnamon bark. Smooth and polished on the palate, the complex cask regime serves up flavors of milk chocolate, licorice, black grape, sultana, date, ginger root, currants, and clove. The finish serves up dried fruit and licorice, with hints of leather and coffee bean." - Jonny McCormick, Whisky Advocate (94 Points)
