Seventy-seven casks in total have combined to create this grown up, 10 Year Old expression from Octomore. The maturation comes from predominately ex-American whisky cask matures with hints from previous releases all blended together and all coming from 2009 vintages of the spirit.

Sitting alongside its 11s series counterparts, this Ten Year Old brings a subtler, more mature dimension to the otherwise youthful exuberance of the .1, .2 and .3 spirits. While we deliberately keep the barley influence forward in the .1 and .3 editions, our .2 and Ten Year Old editions introduce cask influence at varying ends of the Octomore age spectrum. While the malt for our Octomore Ten Year Old is initially higher in PPM, the influence of those 5 extra years results in a calmer, deeper spirit.

Tasting Notes:

Nose: Nectarines, charred pineapple, mango smoothie, and orange peel lead the profile. These are supported by vanilla shortbread, a distinct stony minerality, rock pools, heathery peat, and ginger. The smoke is measured, smouldering quietly in the backdrop like damp bonfire wood.

Palate: Floral honey pours across the tongue, balanced by sea salt, exotic fruits, and rich fudge. Deeper layers emerge with coconut macaroons, sweet tobacco, red chilli chocolate, and controlled, elegant smoky tones.

Finish: Long and warming with toasted oak, roasted apricots, lingering campfire embers, and malted milk biscuits.
