The Orkney Islands were under Viking rule for over 600 years and Spirit of the Bear is inspired by the Viking warriors’ belief that they could channel the spirit of the great forest bear before going into battle.
Created using a higher proportion than usual of our Orkney peated malt, this single malt whisky came of age in a combination of first-fill sherry seasoned European oak, American oak and refill casks. Layers of soft berry fruits are infused with swirls of dark chocolate, silky vanilla and orange zest, while glowing peat galvanises this whisky with an unforgettable smoulder of rich aromatic smoke.
We’ve been crafting our award-winning whisky at the Highland Park Distillery in Kirkwall, Orkney, since 1798. Age, experience and respect for tradition may define our whisky, but it’s Orkney that sets it apart. Something magic happens here and the result is the wild harmony of flavours found in our whisky.
