You will immediately taste the smoky, malty dryness that comes through with this fine single malt. One of the oldest whiskey distilleries in Scotland is located here - since 1794 and Oban is also the gateway to the islands.
The Oban Distillery's tiny lantern-shaped copper kettles are among the smallest in Scotland. The aging takes place in oak barrels.
Oban's barley is malted in a special way: it partially sprouts before drying by means of a gentle peat fire, thus producing a smoky, malty and dry whiskey.
