Released in September 2015, Scapa Skiren is a no-age-statement single malt produced on the picturesque Orkney mainland. It's bottled at 80 proof after exclusive maturation in first-fill American oak, sourced from Tennessee and Kentucky.
The distillery's claim to fame is the use of a barrel-shaped Lomond wash still that was invented in the 1950s and one of very few surviving ones, in combination with a pot still, during the distillation of their unpeated single malts.
"It’s really fine, and stands the lower strength. I quite like this feeling of salted pastry" - Serge, Whisky Fun
