Cask #10589
Only 96 Bottles Produced Worldwide.

On 6 December 1970, three single casks were filled with Glenrothes Single Malt Scotch Whisky. Each cask was bottled separately — Cask #10589 is the first of the three sibling casks. The Last Drop Distillers was founded specifically to bottle the world’s most extraordinary aged and rare spirits that would otherwise have gone unrecognised. Glenrothes Distillery in Rothes, Speyside has been producing single malt since 1879 and is highly regarded for its characteristically rich and spicy Speyside style.

"Talk about a whisky to bring back the memories ... so beautiful" - Jim Murray, Whisky Bible (95.5 Points)

"Olive brine, dark chocolate and faint peat tones entice the nose and palate. A splash of water unfurls almond and a funky aged-cheese umami note. Overall, this is a complex sipper with unusual flavors. This rare bottling is made from three single casks from Speyside distillery Glenrothes." - Kara Newman, Wine Enthusiast (96 Points)

"96 pts: Cask #10589 has a nose that reminds me of smoky, wet campfire wood along with vanilla, cooked bananas, a hint of sandalwood, and touches of dried fruits. The taste is fruity and vibrant on top with fresh berries and tropical fruits. However, there’s a dark undertone of oakiness and smoke balanced by gentle spices underneath that makes this single malt delightfully complex. The finish is very long with gentle spices and touches of fruit and smoke. Outstanding!" - Mark Gillespie, Whisky Cast (96 Points)

"This ticks all the boxes for me. It is an example of what scotch can be with all its history and intrigue. It is no wonder this batch of barrels made its way onto the product list for Last Drop. If you have an opportunity to sample, sip, or the fortune to procure a bottle yourself, this is a wonderful investment that exemplifies the idea of single malt scotch, let alone what time and care can do to bring out the best in a whiskey." - John Dover, The Whiskey Wash (9/10)
